ABOUT SKYLINE

SKYLINE- the band out of Wacken Germany, and the first ever headliner of what we today know as “the loudest place in the world”, Wacken Open Air.

The, then Hard'n'Heavy cover band, was founded in the mid-eighties and toured both regionally and nationally, with appearances at biker clubs, self-organized rock parties and as support for various artists and bands.

Through their passion for rock music, two of the band's founding members (bassist Thomas Jensen and drummer Andreas “Gösy” Schlüter) were instrumental in the founding of Wacken Open Air. Alongside Holger Hübner, Thomas Jensen is today one of the festival managers and rarely picks up the bass.

Gösy however, is still active behind the drums and in 2009 he revived the band in connection with the 20th anniversary of Wacken Open Air. Skyline has since been a part of opening the main stages at the festival, joined by artists like DORO, UDO Dirksneider and Gus G.

A decade went by playing concerts and festivals and in 2019 the, now more than 30 years old, band released their first studio album “Uncovered”, an album celebrating the styles of the artists that inspired them throughout their many years of musicianship.

In 2024 the band will be ready with their second album “Human Monster”, containing a collection of powerful new tracks that push the boundaries of their sound, while staying true to their roots. Again the songs are produced by Lars Jacobsen and Dan Hougesen and mixed by the renowned Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Pretty Maids, Primal Fear, Amaranthe and many more).
